Its not what you do, its how you do it.
Many things that we set out to accomplish will take time, effort, and dedication.
Often we are in a hurry to get to the finish line.
How often do we dread the work? How often do we want to rush through the work that it takes to reach our goals?
You may have thought “I just can’t wait to graduate” while shuffling to class on a rainy day. Maybe you want your business to ‘take off’ so you can afford someone for the tasks that you don’t want to do.
Truth is, we all have done it. Neglected to appreciate the process. Overlooking its importance for progression.
Appreciating the process in turn facilitates the growth of any goal.
Set small goals.
Setting small, intermittent, check points for goals help to track progression. When you keep track of your progress throughout the process, you’ll feel the sense of accomplishment more often, and will be motivated to continue.
We often get so wrapped up in how daunting the work is that we forget it is exactly what we asked for. We want a successful business, but don’t appreciate the opportunity we have of working to make that dream a reality. Having gratitude also helps to change your mood and perception. Love the work that you do, be thankful that you are able to do it!
Remember your ‘Why’.
Why did you start this journey? Why do you want to accomplish this goal? How will it benefit? Having a strong sense of purpose will help you to appreciate the work… especially when you feel like giving up. My son gives me my purpose. I will succeed because my why is bigger than me.
The long nights and hard work provide the grit and elevate you to the next level. It instills discipline. And, prepares you for the bigger tasks ahead.
You have to fall in love with hard work.
You’ve got to push though no matter what.
And just remember, your work is paying off. Even if you can’t see the results yet.
